I THINK so? Substack is still so new to me. It’s definitely a different beast compared to Medium. I’ll probably have more definitive answers the more I wade into these waters.
Originally, I was thinking treating it like a Kindle Vella story where the first three chapters are free and the rest are behind a (very cheap) paywall. Ultimately, I want it to become a book.

Well, I think that is a great idea, if you go ahead and give a chapter, maybe two, to hook your readers. 😊 I know I am already hooked on this one, Andrew. Which, I read your medium stories all the time. I have been trying to be good over there and not get banned. Lol. 😊 I laid back on my comments, and things because of it. I like here, I haven't done much with it yet, but I have been playing with ideas of how to go about it here. I was thinking poetry, but.... 😊 I really loved this, you should make this a book, and publish it. You got me hooked! 😊
I am doing my best not to get suspended or banned. I just got three writers reinstated. I emailed medium about them. I was nice about it. Lol. I have been being good. Yes, this is new to me too. 😊 I think you will do great, Andrew. I am glad I found you on here. 😊

Even then, I had to go back and reread one of your brilliantly constructed adventures in imagery just to admire your literary prowess. Bravo, man. This was so entertaining Andrew, very immersive with vivid imagery and skilful wordcraft.
I shall read on, but if this was the first chapter in a book I'd picked up, I'd want to keep reading.
And ... first chapters being grabby is very important when submitting to an editor!
